This is a beautifully written story that will keep you wondering what is going to happen nexta suspenseful romance I could not stop reading it I highly recommend this novel I have to say that I identified with the male protagonist in that there are reasons people lose faith Yet, sometimes they find their way backsometimes with a little help from love.
Lucky me I had the pleasure to be one of the first to read and review this awesome story Save My Soul has so much going for it Kristie Haigwood has such a uniquely charming voice in this debut novel I honestly felt like I was reading about a real person She is a force to be reckoned with that s for sure Although quirky at times, Kendra is a strong, likeable young woman and pulled at my heartstrings immediately This story was so charming and had the magical influence of the old angel on my shoulder, devil on the other It reminded me of a few old movies I d seen Heaven Can Wait, It s A Wonderful Life just to name a couple A quarter way into the book, I started questioning whether or not this was a religious book, but then realized there wouldn t be any swearing in it then There s not much, just a little Kristie made Kendra so believable the way she showed her working with the students during their photo sessions, I had to wonder whether Ms Haigwood was in fact a photographer on the side She did a remarkable job with the details.
There were a few twists in the story, I won t give anything away, but for me, the twists and surprises a story has the better The love Kendra had for her guardian angel was an honest love that no one could deny and his love for her was one you would expect if you knew your own guardian angel and could actually see and talk to him If you love books about angels this is a great one to read You will be charmed along with everyone else who reads it Great Job, Kristie Great Cover too Thank you for allowing me to read this little gem.
So this book was recommended to me by a friend which is kind of the only reason I picked it up To be completely honest I expected it to have of a paranormal touch to it that it actually delivered, but we ll get to that.
So Kendra Larkin is a twenty something woman who seemingly had a perfect life a job she enjoys, a loving family, a lot of friends and a fuck buddy who satisfies her every need in case you have been living under a rock on mount Everest and or have an underdeveloped brain, fear not the book actually provides an explanation to what the term fuck buddy means Until one day an accident gets her almost killed This is how she meets her soulmate Adam, who is also the doctor who is supposed to save her life on the operating table Now, the thing is that while in coma, Kendra gets visited by two guardian angels one of them her own and gets proposed the deal of her life no pun intended here to save the soul of her almost soulless soulmate I kid you not and thus be given a second chance at life Not only is she given only one week to complete the task at hand, but there are also details about this deal that weren t quite shared with her while sealing the deal.
This doesn t sound bad, and given the fact that I haven t been exposed to a lot of paranormal books, I decided that I should give it a try But this is basically where the good things I can say end At first Kendra sounded really cool to me, I could almost relate to her But as the story progresses and her character gets unraveled before our eyes, we understand that Kendra is one of those female characters that are supposed to be the epitome of a perfect human being while being full of shit We understand that her best friend and I give this example as it is inconsequential to the storyline sleeps with full make up on and her hair done Kendra shares with us that this kind of makes her best friend a slut that likes to fool around, yet she also doesn t give a fuck about relationships and basically uses men for sex Which is not a bad thing, but makes your character a complete hypocrite and a bad friend.
What I liked about this book is that it was really fast paced and very easily read, which ultimately results in only wasting a couple of hours of your life to get it over with Unfortunately, I m not a fan of insta love and most of the other bullshit happening in this book that made me roll my eyes and sigh with exasperation, which is I guess obvious by the way I rated it I don t know, maybe I expected it to be paranormal and less view spoiler having a girl wonder who of all the men in this book who are also all drooling over her to fuck hide spoiler Pleasantly Surprised.
This is a very enjoyable faced paced thriller I rolled my eyes when I first saw how many chapters were in the book Fifty, plus an epilogue No Say it ain t so because I had just tried to read two other women s books and there was no flow Way too much fluff and superfluous descriptions So, with a tired right finger I started clicking and clicking and clicking Before I knew it, I was 30% complete and fully engrossed.
The stories star Kendra Larkin endures what appears to be a random climbing accident She knows she s in the ER by the sounds and commotion But why are all the sounds so clear Yes, why But this is no ordinary ER operation No, not at all Imagine being awake while the surgeon and his nurses try and bring you back from the dead, not once, not twice, how about three times Kendra finds out she has seven days to save the surgeon s soul If she fails, the surgeon and her souls will be damned for all eternity That s a pretty good plot line, but it gets thicker Kendra is torn internally with deep love desires for three men the surgeon, an attending nurse and her guardian angel and she has seven days to save a soul For a gal who thought a relationship was kept to friends with benefits, she s about to be thrown into a whirlwind of emotions her soul has never experienced The only drawback to the story was the end I won t spoil it, but it left me a little flat.
Other than that, gals are going to love this story It is fast paced and packed with emotions and action.
Well done Kristie.
The story kicks straight into action with Kendra, the heroine, lying on the operating table, dying She miraculously survives, but there is a catch her life and soul will only be saved if she manages to make the doctor who operated on her believe in God again Dr Chamberlain is embittered and has good reasons to have lost his faith, so it s not an easy task Kendra is helped by her guardian angel Rhyan, who also happens to be really hot This is a refreshing change from the paranormal romance involving angels theme, because I always wondered while reading other books in this genre whatever happened to God as one of the main characters Mind you, I am not a die hard fan of Christian literature or anything, but when a story is about angels, you sort of expect them to have a connection with God, having to do assignments for Him and all that At least Rhyan was doing something religion related in this book, so thumbs up for not slacking off The only thing that didn t work for me was that good and evil were portrayed sort of black and white in the story Because Adam the doctor lost his faith, he has a guardian demon That s a bit too harsh for me But I understand why the author used it in the story.
Definitely give this one a go, for a mere 5 dollars it s worth your money and time.

Save My Soul is classed as a romance I think that is wrong I think this novel creates its own genre I ll call it action romance for lack of a better description.
Kendra Larkin has a problem she s just had an accident that should kill her But she s too young to die, so she feels pressured to make a deal with an angel who can save her life The trouble is, you can t trust just any odd angel and there are some little details Coen has omitted to mention in the heat of the moment.
The events begin to unravel at break neck speed and Kendra struggles to make sense of life with a guardian angel by her side and at the same time her own feelings towards her angel, Rhyan, dashing nurse Mason and the object of the task she s been given Dr Adam Chamberlain, M.
D.
I have to say, whenever I see mentions of angels, I worry To me, religion is a private thing and I don t enjoy having God and Christianity shoved down my throat I needn t have worried Despite being full of angels from about page two onwards, Kristie Haigwood makes the storyline so real and its characters so well defined, that it feels perfectly natural to have a guardian angel read your thoughts, talk to you incessantly and even pop in and out of existence when you least expect it.
There are so many twists and turns, you ll be pointing down the wrong path times than not Kendra doesn t know her mind and you ll be living her emotions and rooting for her every step of the way You might even recognize some of her predicaments, though you might not be able to deal with them with quite as much humor and light hearted absurdity as she does The scenes in which Kendra tries to make the models of her photography business look camera friendly are the funniest I ve read in many months.
I can t imagine there would be anybody that wouldn t enjoy reading this book It is funny, exciting, fast, sexy, grown up and playful all at the same time For me it was a wonderful find, a fantastic experience If I was searching for a read perfectly suited to myself, I couldn t have found anything better.
I really enjoyed this book by K.
S Haigwood I found myself immediately sucked into this novel I had not read the synopsis, so everything was a complete surprise from the first paragraph I think that added to my enjoyment The characters were very fascinating and I loved the concept of a guardian angel and guardian demon It made for some interesting internal conversations in my head I love it when books make you think I do have to admit, that the author did such a good job creating the bad guy that I was kind of cheering him on and hoping he would somehow become not good, but better Seriously, there must be something wrong with me hehehe The only thing I can see being an issue in this book is the religious component It is definitely spiritual and the main character s goal is to get her soul mate to believe in God to save his soul It is not, however a Christian book, per say and Jesus is not mentioned This may be a concern for certain readers This is a book of fiction, not a book of spiritual guidance and I read it as such and found it quite a fun and engaging read I already put this author s newest book on my TBR.
