½ Online ☆ Download by ê Seth Blackburn The story of Brendan Lowe and his search for a life without leaving the hometown that he had grown up in and still lived His wife divorced him because he was stuck in the same place that he had always been in As an at home data based engineer he does not feel the need to go any where except out to the local coffee shoppe for his late night jolt of caffeine He has fallen love with his boss whom he sees occasionally but he is too stuck in his life to try to start a relationship with her He is comfortable in his little world and really does not want to upset it in anyway.
That world changes when Brendan is involved in an accident that is not his fault, but the richest man in town wants him to take the blame to exonerate his grandson Everyone in the town turns against him and he is left with the Sheriff, who was at the scene of the accident, his boss, Cara, his ex wife and her boyfriend as the only ones in his corner Once released from the hospital with the town against him and the town benefactor pressuring him, Brendan finds a friend Online When Cara and Brendan begin seeing each other he rejects the Online friend , Alexa and that is when his real trouble begins Everyone that he cares about is in danger as well as those who are putting pressure on Brendan to accept blame for the accident The different strands of the story come together in a climatic conclusion that is difficult to foresee Mr Blackburn had done an excellent job weaving the stories and lives of his characters together and to keep the reader interested and wanting to know how it all ends A very good read.
Brendan Lowes Is A Wanted ManThe Sarasins Want Him In PrisonHis Friends And Family Want To Save HimAnd Alexa Vallencourt Wants Nothing Less Than His SoulOvernight, Brendan S Quiet And Solitary Life Becomes Anything But When Just As He Suspects His Love Interest Cara, Might Be Falling For Him, He Finds Himself Framed For Manslaughter, Hated By The Town In Which He Lives And The Victim Of Alexa, An Obsessive Woman He Has Met OnlineWhen He Learns Of Alexa S Death, Brendan Breathes A Sad Sigh Of Relief, But The Respite Is Short Lived Alexa Is Back And Every Bit As Eager For Him As Before Brendan Realizes That Cara S Life Is In Danger And Calls On His Friends, New And Old, To Join Forces There Is Maggie, His Ex Wife And Her Rock Star Friend Dr Death, Chapman Carter, The Police Chief Of Crescent Bay And Cara Herself, All Standing Behind Their New Hero In This Fight Against Madness, Death And Beyond This book very much surprised me It was not what I expected, but better I loved the suspense The several storylines were woven together nicely Just as I was starting to get into what I thought was going to be the whole plot, Mr Blackburn adds a twist, and then another, and then evenThe characters are written so well that you feel emotional about what happens to them, good or bad.
I do admit, as a computer geek, it was a little creepy for me It made my imagination run wild As with Asimov and his stories being fodder for the future of science, I can somewhat foresee this happening as computer technology advances.
It seems to me that the writer cut off every rule of writing style there is, at least genre related.
I enjoyed the first part of the story the development of the characters, their personalities I was shocked by the rate of insanity some sick actions made me questioning the psychologically health of the author how can you make that up , but the bottom line of good vs bad has been very clear expressed I loved it.
Then the story became really fantastic I do love supernatural stories, but after my first surprise do we really have to believe in ghosts suddenly , my disappointment grew I felt like the author was trying out something, which for me did not work The supernatural line was too superficial, not plausible Also the last chapter was sketchy, full of cliches.
So, in my opinion, Blackburn should have stopped the story before that supernatural thing He is good in writing down therealistic stories, even when it contents over the top insanity.

Seth Blackburn is the writer of two books which can be found tells the story of Brendan Lowes, a database engineer in day time and book writer at night One day while on the way back home for a late night, or early morning coffee he gets hit by a car The car is driven by Danny Sarasin the grandson of the very wealthy founder of the town Both Danny and his girl die in this accident and despite the fact that he is not the one to be blamed the Sarasin family makes sure Brendan gets known to be the guilty one In his fight to prove his innocence he becomes friends with the Chief of Police Chapman Carter.
Brendan ends up sitting home with a serious inured leg and installs some chat software to talk to his ex wife Maggie and her new boyfriend rockstar Dr Death Trough this channel he gets to know Alexa, a troubled woman who develops a special interest in him.
And there is Cara Waters, his boss whom he has had a crush on from the first time they met and now, while her marriage is breaking up, discovers she is interested in him too While the Sarasins and their lawyer try everything within their possibility to hunt Brendan out of town, Alexa proves to be the bigger problem Alexa wants Brendan so bad that Cara is not save, to make sure everything will be fine Brendan needs the help of all his friends to fight of Alexa.
I finished reading this book which made that the book gets two stars, but that is as far as I can go and it saddens me The story has a lot of potential There are several angles touched, orscraped which would have made for a very interesting book but before you get the hang of it the momentum is gone First there are way to many characters that seem to play key roles if you have to believe their introduction in the first chapters I almost needed a paper and pen to place everybody somewhere and make sure I had the right person in the right storyline Second there are to many stories The Alexa history would have been interesting if the story would have been about her Following that would render the accident story unnecessary There is the accident story, interesting too, how rich people get their way and how politics can work on that level, but the end would make no sense Now I am left with the feeling that neither one of the stories made sense, they don t really get their own chance to shine and get important All this makes the book confusing and annoying to read It left me with a very unsatisfied feeling and made it a struggle to actually finish the book When I decided I had to finish it or stop, I had another 120 pages to go but that ended up to be the most confusing part of the book Further I would have liked a little warning about the explicit context of the book, that kind of took me by surprise.
Online has one of those expansive plots that covers multiple storylines which eventually are all woven together to form a larger picture As such, it makes it a bit difficult to sum it all up in a review without giving anything away or ending up writing a synopsis by mistake, but I will try.
All the storylines advance simultaneously, which makes for interesting reading The author did a good job of never leaving one storyline for very long while he was advancing the others He strung out enough detail and action in each scene to keep me hooked, but not so much that I couldn t remember where things had left off upon returning to a particular storyline I was equally fascinated by Alexa s downward spiral into madness as I was about following Brendan s interactions with Edgar Sarasin and his crew as they plotted to run Brendan out of town And I found the budding romance between Brendan and Cara equally touching and frustrating just like a real relationship in the beginning stages where you think you might have met The One but you re still getting familiar with that person Like most real life relationships, both Brendan and Cara have some baggage to deal with.
So what do all of these story threads have in common Brendan Ultimately, Brendan must fight against the corrupt politicians trying to sully his name, keep his friends and family safe from a woman hell bent on destroying everything he loves, and contend with a new world created by technology He must decide what is most important and what is worth fighting for In doing so, he finds himself I was enjoying the story as it advanced and then about a third into the book, the suspense that had been slowly building suddenly ratcheted up and I found myself turning page after page to find out what happens next I ended up staying up waaaay past my bedtime to finish because I couldn t put it down There is a little bit of something in this book for everyone It s not straight horror, nor a straight suspense thriller nor a straight romance, although there is a fair amount of all of these in it All combined, it made Online a fun read.
