ng The Following Is A True Story Love And Heartache In High School, The Feelings Of Anger, Curiosity Through The Years, And Finally A Reuniting At Forty Nine, I Ve Suffered A Wide Variety Of Ups And Downs, Emotional Highs And Lows I Thought I D Experienced Every Feeling Imaginable What Debbie And I Shared In The Short Seven Months God Allowed Us Together Were Beyond My Wildest Dreams We Were About To Get An Education In How Deeply Two People Can Love Join Debbie And I, By Getting A Copy Today, As We Reconcile The Pain And Hurt From The Past And Embark On The Love We Both So Desperately Sought Through The Years I received a copy of Love s True Second Chance in exchange for an honest review Love s True Second Chance is a true story of love lost and found, heartbreak and humor, and the miracle of soulmates.
Jeff Dawson chose to share his story of second chances with the world, and I am glad he did He manages to show the real love he had for Debbie, both at the beginning and at the end I was touched by his willingness to do what was needed when she needed him most.
I like the fact that the book reads as if Jeff is talking to you It wasn t forced or fake The pictures included in the book make everyone come alive, and you get a better feel for the story.
I am giving this four stars because the grammar was inconsistent throughout There is a third person sentence, followed by first, and then back to third It didn t take away from the story that much, but it was a little jarring to see the switch.
Overall, I m glad I read this book Jeff manages to balance the heartbreak with humorous memories It s nice to know that people can manage to laugh and love in the midst of tragedy My heart hurts for the loss Jeff, Jessica, and Amanda had to endure I was glad to know Jeff had found peace at the end of the book.
I would recommend this for anyone wanting a quick, heartfelt story to read.
I was given a free copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
Love s True Second Chance by Jeff Dawson is a memoir and love story between the author, Jeff and his first love, Debbie Jeff and Debbie start dating in high school and once they get together, it seems like they will stay together forever However, mostly due to the fact that Jeff leaves for college, Jeff and Debbie break up like most teenage couples do Their break up literally breaks Jeff s heart and it affects all of his relationships from there out Years go by after they ve split apart and yet Jeff can t stop thinking about his love for Debbie He is scared that he will never be able to love another woman as much as he loves her.
Well, after going 30 years of having no contact with each other, Debbie calls Jeffs one day out of the blue She confesses that she still thinks about him even after all those years of being apart They decide to meet up and it is obvious that both Jeff and Debbie s life have changed since high school Jeff has a son and is single Debbie has two daughters, is single, and has had breast cancer Although Jeff and Debbie have spent a long time away from each other, they both quickly discover that they have an unconditional love for one another that could never be replaced Will Jeff and Debbie be able to stay together and live out their happily ever after Love s True Second Chance is a poignant, brave story of a man s never ending love for his soulmate Although I don t know Jeff or Debbie personally, just by reading their story I can automatically tell they were made to compliment each other The way they ended up is both warm and heartbreaking at the same time Jeff s commentary on his life is funny, happy and at some points, touching I loved reading about when Jeff started to warm up to Debbie and her daughters, noting that he was always supposed to be apart of their family I truly believe the love that Debbie and Jeff share is the type of love that you only find once in a lifetime, and I really enjoyed knowing that everything they had did not just end in high school Sadly, that is how it goes for most couples, but Jeff and Debbie prove that they have something much meaningful between them Jeff is there for Debbie in so many ways, and of course by the end of the book I was crying I don t want to spoil the ending but I got very emotional knowing that a part of their story ends abruptly But by writing this book, Jeff proves that their love story can and will live on forever.
I enjoyed reading this book Being a quick read, Jeff Dawson s writing flows well and is interesting I believe his style of writing is different and sticks with you which I think makes a powerful impact on this book He did have a great story to work with in the first place but the hard hitting emotions within his writing is what really makes the story come alive However, there were some grammar issues throughout, such as the point of view switching from first to third without any sort of warning Although this was distracting for me at times, it did not take my attention away from this beautiful story There was also some repetition of ideas at the novel s end that I did not think were necessary but there were some great, unique components that ultimately made up for it I really enjoyed looking at Debbie s playlist, extra notes written by Jeff, and even notes written by their friends I recommend this book to any married couple, or anyone who knows someone who has or has had cancer Jeff s story with Debbie teaches you that despite the amount of distance or time, if you are meant to be with someone, you will eventually find your way back to each other.

ng I have a weakness for second chance love Who hasn t daydreamed about a second chance to say the words you never had the courage for, to correct all the past wrongs Part memoir and part love story, this book is a bittersweet, authentic, and honest peek behind the curtain You don t often get to read about a courtship from a man s perspective It was sweet to hear about Jeff and Debbie s early romance, funny even I was really moved at the tenderness and compassion Jeff and Debbie had for each other when got back together, after decades of living, the good and the bad of it, and still found that they were in love Blended families can be rocky at the start, no matter how they come together, and the trial and error of how Debbie s daughters took to Jeff was sweet and touching and funny I couldn t help but cringe a little, having been in a similar situation myself This book is a loving and honest tribute to a lifelong romance.

Wowjust WOW A very touching true story about true love and second chances I cried when Debbie found out her cancer was back I had gone through breast cancer starting in 06 one side and found in the other couple months later in 07 I was lucky, two lumpectomies and clean lymph nodes left me with some ugly scars and mishapened breasts My husband of 35 years stood by me through shock anger and surgeries treatments Debbie and Jeff were blessed to have her last 7 months together after 30 years apart Tulsa McAlester Dallas was a nice little surprise being the background of the story as I live in OK A story with twist and turns and you better have a tissue handy What a wonderful loving story Even knowing how the story was going to end I still wanted to keep reading I can not imagine the heartache Jeff went through, not only living the story but then putting it into words Everyone needs to have this type of love at least once in their life I have a feeling Debbie is looking down on Jeff with so much pride and I doubt that she is saying Stupid Stupid Man.
Real Life Love Story Reminding You Love and Family Is Important Phew Get the tissues and keep them by your side when reading this real life love story From the beginning, author Jeff Dawson, tells readers how this story ends, but strangely that only lures you into wanting to know his tale about this Second Chance at love This book proves true love can become a reality in life, it just takes real commitment to make it work Now, what sets this book apart from a contemporary romance book is the way the book is written The story is told from Jeff s own thoughts in a reminiscing manner, as if he were sitting there, telling you his life s tale about his love affair with his soul mate Debbie.
Jeff and Debbie meet in high school in 1977 Their lives are the cute classic teenage relationship until it changes when Jeff graduates and goes to college, while Debbie has one year left at school Their story is by no means clich from that point onward, and I won t spoil any parts, but life happens, rash words are said and decisions are done, so it isn t till 30 years later that the two reconnect It s the reunion part of the story that is the most captivating, heartwarming, and ultimately heartbreaking as Jeff and Debbie reconcile the past, live in the present, and pray for a possible future.
Overall, I can t say the book is a typical romance story because it s not No, this book is a true story and with that comes a depth to the circumstances in this retelling of Jeff and Debbie s love that is hard to really describe Real love is unconditional and when you truly love another, you will do anything and be there for them no matter what Jeff just honestly tells of his time with Debbie and it s real, not fiction A reader can walk away from this book with the advice of knowing love is real and family is what matters most I received a free copy in return for an honest review read of my reviews at I am sure you can remember your first love Perhaps it was in high school, college or even earlier than that One thing is for certain, we never forget our first love Jeff Dawson shares a unique personal memoir with us in Love s True Second Chances, where he tells the story of his first love, Debbie In all romance stories, we know that two people will fall madly in love and get married to hopefully live happily ever after, but this is not the case in this one Jeff opens the book with a poignant poem that outlines the lives of Jeff and Debbie throughout the years culminating in the following chapter where he watches her life slowly slip away to the effects of cancer Not exactly the way fairy tales open, but this is no fairy tale This is the true life love story of the two who met in high school and found the one perfect love Through a series of events they eventually break up as Jeff heads off to college with a broken heart It will be thirty years later before the two reconnect again and they wonder if they love they felt in high school is still there after all this time One thing is definitely true in life, that true love never dies I received Love s True Second Chance compliments of Jeff Dawson for my honest review I did not receive any monetary compensation other than a complimentary copy of the book It is a sad story, because the reader ultimately knows where it ends, but what a great and lasting legacy Jeff leaves to his children and Debbie s of the love the two of them shared from it s humble beginnings It is always the questions children will ask later in life of their parents, who was their first love, how did they meet, what happened to that person, and in this book, Jeff shares his side of the love story, because death claimed Debbie before she could share hers Truly an unforgettable story of true love that found a second chance and one I would rate a 4 out of 5 stars.
As I write this, I am still overcome by so much emotion from this story First it needs to be said that this is a true story and the first non fiction of its kind that I have reviewed Secondly, I just want to take a moment to thank Jeff for allowing us a peek into the most significant part of his life He opened his heart and soul so that the rest of us could see the love that he and Debbie shared With that being said, this is so much than just a love story This is one of friendship, love, pain, growth, goodbyes, grief, longing and of course, second chances So often, so many of us go through life havign never found our true second half, let alone find it twice When I reached the part of the book where Debbie breaks up with Jeff, and for the life of him, he doesn t know why, before he revealed the reason, I already knew She didn t want to hold him back from having a chance to live his life when he left for college, and I could totally understand that I can almost picture him laughing at that because he makes so many references to being a stupid teenage boy with no common sense You weren t stupid Jeff You were just being a typical teenage guy I truly did enjoy this book and I couldn t put it down I finished it in just under a day and a half I highly recommend Love s True Second Chance As I said, it is so much than just a love story Thank you again Jeff, for allowing me to see such an intimate part of your life And I believe that Debbie is looking down on you with a huge smile, thinking Yep, that s my man , with utmost pride.
This Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review This was a difficult book for me to rate and eventually I settled on 3 1 2 stars marked up to 4 The premise is definitely one I feel that a lot of people will be able to relate to and I hope that it was therapeutic for the author to share his story of love, loss, and the struggles and obstacles faced along the way.
The main issue for me were the pictures scattered throughout I feel that they interrupted the flow of the story and didn t add to what you were reading at the points they were placed With many memoirs you will find a section in the middle or at the end with chronologically placed photo s with a brief explanation That I think may have helped.
There is a lot of substance to this piece but the writing style didn t quite click for me For the most part though the strong emotional input was enough to keep you reading and as I said at the beginning I am sure that many people will be able to relate V V Note just for the goodreads review I have spoken to the author about the current synopsis on here at the time the review was written The synopsis on Click here to see it is far appropriate for this book in my opinion and I have suggested that the author switches it Review has been done in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official.
